Astral Projection

Action - 9 Creature (10 ft.) - 9th Level (Necromancy) - VSM - spec

Utility

  • You and up to 8 willing creatures project your astral bodies into the Astral Plane. The spell fails if cast while already on the Astral Plane.

  • Your material body is left behind, unconscious suspended animation. It does not age and requires no food or air.

  • Your astral body mirrors your mortal form, including game statistics and possessions, with the addition of a silvery cord tethering it to your physical body. The cord is invisible beyond 1 ft. and can only be severed by effects that specifically state so; if cut, you die instantly.

  • Your astral form can freely travel the Astral Plane and enter portals to other planes. When entering a new plane (or returning to your origin), your body and possessions travel along the silver cord, reuniting you with your form there.

  • Your astral form is a separate incarnation. Damage and conditions affecting it do not transfer to your physical body and end upon return.

  • You may use an Action to dismiss the spell, returning your astral form to your body and awakening it. If Dispel Magic is cast on your astral or physical body, the spell ends for that creature. If either the astral or physical body drops to 0 hit points, the spell ends for that creature. If the silver cord is intact, the creature's soul is drawn back to its body, ending its suspended animation. If you return prematurely, your companions remain in their astral forms and must find their own way back, often by being reduced to 0 hit points.
