Clone

Materials: You require a diamond, typically valued at 1000 gold. The spell consumes this material. You also require a sealable vessel large enough to hold the creature being cloned, typically valued at 2000 gold.

Utility

• You create an inert duplicate of a living Medium or smaller creature. The clone forms inside the sealed vessel and matures after 120 days.

• You may choose for the clone to be a younger version of the creature. Once mature, it remains inert indefinitely so long as its vessel is undisturbed.

• If the original creature dies after the clone matures, its soul transfers to the clone if free and willing. The clone awakens with the same personality, memories, and abilities as the original, but without equipment.

• The original's physical remains, if they exist, become inert and cannot be restored to life, as the soul now resides in the clone.
