Divination

You burn incense, present a small offering, and pose a question to spirits, messengers of the divine, or fate itself.

Utility

  • You ask a yes/no question that has a factual answer. You can ask about events that have happened in the past, but not future events.

  • The GM gives you a yes/no answer if possible, or saying unknown if the answer is unknowable.

  • If the subject of your question is protected from divination, the answer will be unknown. A subject can fool this spell with a Magic Aura spell.

  • The spell doesn’t take into account any possible circumstances that might change the outcome, such as the casting of additional spells or the loss or gain of a companion.


If you cast the spell two or more times before completing your next long rest, there is a cumulative 25 percent chance for each casting after the first that you get a random reading. The GM makes this roll in secret.
