• Any spell of 5th level or lower cast from outside the barrier cannot affect creatures or objects within it, even if cast with a higher-level slot.

• Such a spell can target creatures or objects within the barrier, but has no effect on them.

• The area inside the barrier is excluded from the area of effect of such spells.

Upcasting: When cast with a higher level spell slot, the globe blocks spells of a level at least one lower than the slot used.
