Failure: The target takes 4d10 psychic damage* and becomes frightened. While frightened in this way, the target is incapacitated. for the duration of the spell. Target rolls again at end of their turns, ending effect on success.
Success: Half damage, no other effect.

*Upcasting: Increase damage by 1d10 for each spell level above 4th.
