Action - 7th Level (Abjuration) - VSM - Permanentanent

Utility

  • You inscribe a harmful glyph on a surface (up to 10 ft. in diameter) or inside an object that can be closed to conceal it. If the inscribed object is moved more than 10 ft. from where you cast the spell, the glyph breaks and the spell ends without triggering.

  • The glyph is nearly invisible. A creature must succeed on an Intelligence (Investigation) check against your spell save DC to notice it.

  • You decide the trigger when casting the spell (touching, stepping on, opening, moving within range, seeing, reading, etc.). Triggers can be refined by physical traits (size, weight, type) or by conditions such as passwords. You may also exclude certain creatures from triggering it.

  • Once triggered, the glyph glows, filling a 60-ft. radius sphere with dim light for 10 minutes. Each creature in the area when it activates, or that enters it for the first time on a turn or ends its turn there (but not both), is affected by the chosen effect.

  • Choose one of the options below for its effect.


Effects - 60 ft Radius

Trigger: Set the trigger to occur.

  • Death: Constitution Save Failure, target takes [[/damage 10d10 necrotic]] damage; success Half damage.

  • Discord: Constitution Save Failure, target bickers for 1 minute, cannot communicate meaningfully, and has Disadvantage on attack rolls and ability checks.

  • Fear: Wisdom Save Failure, target is Frightened for 1 minute, drops held items, and must move at least 30 ft. away each turn if able.

  • Hopelessness: Charisma Save Failure, target is overwhelmed with despair for 1 minute and cannot attack or use harmful actions, spells, or effects.

  • Insanity: Intelligence Save Failure, target is insane for 1 minute, cannot act or understand language, and speaks only gibberish. The DM controls its erratic movement.

  • Pain: Constitution Save Failure, target is Incapacitated with excruciating pain for 1 minute.

  • Sleep: Wisdom Save Failure, target falls Unconscious for 10 minutes. The creature wakes if it takes damage or if shaken awake as an Action.

  • Stunning: Wisdom Save Failure, target is Stunned for 1 minute.
