True Polymorph

Action - 1 Creature (30 ft.) - 9th Level (Transmutation) - VSM - 1 Hours

Wisdom Save

  • Failure: Target is transformed.

    • Creature to Creature:

      • The new form must have a CR equal to or lower than the target's (or its level, if it has no CR).

      • The target's statistics, including mental ability scores, are replaced by the new form's. It retains its alignment and personality.

      • The target assumes the hit points of the new form. When it reverts, it returns to the HP it had before. Excess damage carries over, but does not knock the creature Unconscious unless it reduces its normal form to 0 HP.

      • The target cannot act outside its new form's capabilities (e.g. no casting if the form cannot cast, no speech if the form cannot speak).

      • The target's equipment melds into the new form and cannot be used.

    • Object to Creature:

      • The new creature's size must be no larger than the object's size, and its CR must be 9 or lower.

      • The creature is friendly to you and your allies, acting on your turns and following your commands. The DM controls its statistics and resolves its actions.

      • If the spell becomes permanent, you no longer control the creature. Its attitude depends on how you treated it while under your control.

    • Creature to Object:

      • The creature, along with its worn and carried gear, becomes a nonmagical object.

      • Its statistics are replaced by those of the object. It has no memory of time spent in this form once it returns to normal.

  • Success: No effect.

  • Concentration: If you concentrate for the full duration, the transformation becomes permanent until dispelled.
